Adaptation

Literature and cinema are arts with fundamental differences. Adapting a literary work requires a profound reinvention of the story. In this workshop, you will discover how to appropriate a story and turn it into a screenplay. You will learn how to put into images a style, a discourse, an atmosphere from literary works without losing their nature.

Cine-Philo

Presentation of short films (themed according to student’s level) followed by philosophical debates led by the Plein(s) Écran(s) team. Cinema is a gateway to introduce young people to philosophy and the experience of their thoughts. Short films screening

This activity gives students the chance to attend a screening of short films at the Cinémathèque québécoise, followed by a discussion led by the Plein(s) Écran(s) team. The films are chosen according to the school level address different themes, such as those present in the 6 films below. A minimum of 35 students is required

Screenwriting 101

This workshop with a very hands-on approach introduces students to screenwriting tools and the writing process by exploring different working methods and components specific to cinematic storytelling. In short, screenwriting for dummies! *in-school activities are available in French only

Image decoding

This introductory workshop in film analysis gives students the tools they need to familiarize themselves with the vocabulary of cinema.
